Safety Features
As always Kia has come through with an amazing set of standard safety features for their car. The Rio 5-Door has:
• Forward collision warning system: The Forward Collision Warning system anticipates the potential for colliding with the vehicle in front, providing the driver with audio and visual warnings if the car in front slows down suddenly, helping to avoid a head-on collision.
• Lane keep assist: Lane Keeping Assist will automatically assist the driver's steering when lane departure is detected to help prevent the vehicle from moving out of its lane.
• Automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection: This system will automatically stop the car if a crash seems imminent. The car is also able to detect people and apply brakes for pedestrians, not only other vehicles.
• Cruise control: Cruise control is a feature that comes in handy when you drive at a constant speed. It is an electric system that allows you to set your car to a specific speed, letting you take your foot off the accelerator pedal. So, it can ease foot-fatigue and stress over a long drive.
• Rear camera display: When the car is put into reverse, the driver can see their surroundings behind the car
• Kia connect 911 connect: With Kia Connect 911 connect will automatically attempt to call 911 if your airbags deploy or for non emergencies, it can connect you with 24/7 roadside assistance.
• Tire pressure monitoring
• 6 airbags
• High beam assist: High Beam Assist is a function that automatically adjusts the headlamp range (switches between high beam and low beam) depending on the brightness of detected vehicles and certain road conditions.
• Driver attention warning: If the car senses the driver becoming tired or inattentive, a warning will go off that suggests the driver takes a break.
